Compare

Add both files to start. You can drop two PDFs at once.

FileMorphs compares the page text, form field values and how each page looks. The text of comments is not compared. Your files are never sent to a server for comparison.

Compare two versions of a PDF

Add the original and the revised file. FileMorphs reads both, matches their pages and marks every change. You step through the changes one at a time and mark each one reviewed.

What it finds

Wording
Words that were inserted, deleted or changed.
Moved
Text that moved to another page or place is marked as moved, not as a deletion plus an insertion.
Check the numbers
Amounts, numbers, percentages and dates that changed. One filter shows only those.
Formatting
The same words in another font, weight, size or color.
Appearance
Changes in how each page looks, beyond its text.

How it works

  1. Add the original PDF and the revised PDF. You can drop both at once.
  2. Choose what to compare, text, appearance or both, then press Compare files.
  3. Go through the change list with the pages side by side, or as one redline page.
  4. Download the changes as a CSV file, with a Reviewed column if you want one.

When to use it

Before you sign a returned contract, engagement letter or lease, check that only the changes you agreed to were made.

When a client sends a second draft of a statement or schedule, see which numbers changed without reading both files line by line.

Your file stays on your device

Both PDFs are read and compared in this browser tab. Your files are never sent to a server for comparison, and you need no account.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no account.

Can I compare password-protected PDFs?

Yes. FileMorphs asks for the password, then opens the file in your browser.

Can I hide small changes?

Yes. Ignore case, Ignore punctuation and Ignore headers and footers each take one kind of change out of the list.

Do both files need the same number of pages?

No. FileMorphs matches the pages of the two files, so an added page shows up as inserted text.

What does it not compare?

The text of comments.
